SORTING SOCKS

Lola Chick was helping Grandma Hen with the laundry. Lola Chick loved sorting socks by color.

“Two yellow socks,” she said, putting two yellow socks together.

“Two green socks,” she said, pairing two green socks.

Lola Chick pulled two red socks from the basket.

“Two red socks,” she said.

But then she noticed that the red socks had two big holes!

“Look!” she said, showing the socks to Grandma Hen.

“Oh my,” said Grandma Hen. “Those socks are beyond repair.”

“I have an idea,” said Lola Chick.

Lola Chick went to her room. She grabbed a black marker and drew two big eyes on each sock. Then she put one sock on each hand and went back to Grandma Hen.

“Look!” she said.

“You made sock puppets!” said Grandma Hen. “What a great idea!”

After Lola Chick and Grandma Hen finished sorting the laundry, Lola Chick put on the best puppet show ever.

小鸡洛拉正在帮鸡外婆整理刚洗好的衣服。她喜欢给袜子按颜色归类。

“两只黄袜子。”她边说,边把两只黄袜子放在一起。

“两只绿袜子。”她说着把两只绿袜子配成对。

小鸡洛拉从洗衣筐里抽出两只红色的袜子。

“两只红袜子。”她说。

但是之后她注意到红袜子上有两个大洞!

“瞧~”她把袜子拿给鸡外婆看。

“天啊!”鸡外婆说,“这双袜子没救了。”

“我有个主意。”小鸡洛拉说。

小鸡洛拉去到她的房间。她拿了一根黑色马克笔,给每只袜子画上了一双大眼睛。然后她把袜子套在手上,回去找鸡外婆。

“您看!”她说。

“你做了袜子手偶!”鸡外婆称赞道,“真是个好创意!”

在她们将衣服收拾完毕后,小鸡洛拉表演了一场最精彩的手偶戏。
