因为be动词后可以跟名词、形容词、副词、介词短语等，那么之前熟悉的He is a teacher.分别替换主语he--->a pen、表语a teacher ---> on the desk, 于是可以变成A pen is on the desk. “笔在桌子上”，有种倒装的结构，那反过来，“桌子上有个笔”是不是就可以说成There is a pen on the desk. 再看下这个结构是不是就是典型的：there be +人或物+地点
对比be 动词与 there be 句型的使用方法如此看来，there be是完全可以当成是主系表结构的,肯定句中there可看成是主语
练习自己可以尝试翻译，并且用不同时态（过去现在将来）、替换不同情态动词（过去现在将来）进行翻译。比如：
